Mission at Trinity:

Serving and teaching in a Christ-centered congregation and school means that I have the opportunity to share with God's children the knowledge and skills needed for life in our world today. By the Holy Spirit's power, I also am able to share the love and grace of Jesus that are vital for life in eternity.

I am a native Kansan. I was born in Hanover, KS and spent much of my youth growing up on a farm near Bremen, KS. I attended elementary and high school in Marysville, KS, where I graduated in 1977.

I attended St. John’s College in Winfield from 1977-1979, and graduated with an associate degree in business. During the next year I worked for Farmers’ Grain Cooperative in Burns, KS. It was during that year that I decided to return to school and seek a degree in elementary education. I returned to St. John’s for two more years to pursue this degree. I did my student teaching at Holy Cross Lutheran School and Bethany Lutheran School in Wichita. In the spring of 1982, I graduated from St. John’s with bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Wichita State University in the spring of 1995.

My first call was to serve as teacher of grades 3, 4, and 5 at First Lutheran School in Paola, KS. Other responsibilities included in my job description were athletic director and basketball coach, and senior high youth director. I served there for nine years before receiving a call in 1991 to serve as principal/teacher here at Trinity.

I have been married to my wife, Becky, since 1981. We have two children, Erik and Amanda. My interests are hunting, fishing, playing golf, singing, playing guitar, and spending time with my family.

I consider it a great pleasure and honor to serve my Lord in the teaching ministry. He has allowed me to touch countless lives, and share the Gospel message of grace with students and their families in unique and exciting ways. I have been blessed to be able to work with people who are not only my colleagues, but also my friends. I ask His grace daily as I take on the responsibilities and challenges of leading children to the arms of the Savior.
